About this podcast

Over the course of its long history, the Institute of Buddhist Studies has hosted a number of Buddhist scholars, teachers, and thinkers who have presented their thoughts to our students and community. The IBS Podcast is a collection of these talks from such notable scholars as Kenneth Tanaka, Judith Simmer-Brown, Mark Unno, and Takanori Sugioka. You can watch or listen to podcast episodes here on this site, download specific episodes, or subscribe to the podcast through iTunes.

For most episodes, to watch or listen to the file, simply click the “Play” button in the media player. The episode should start playing automatically.

Depending on the speed of your computer and/or your internet connection, download times and playback speeds will vary. Please be patient as some of these files are quite large.

You will need need the Adobe Flash plugin to use the media player. Most modern web browsers have this feature enabled, and you will probably not have to do anything. If you do not have the Flash plugin enabled, you might see blank spaces with question marks in them or error messages from your browser. Simply follow Adobe’s instructions here to set up Flash.

You may also need Apple’s QuickTime player installed on your computer to watch some of the video episodes. If the video episodes do not play automatically, you can download QuickTime here.

If you prefer, you can download individual episodes to your local computer to listen or watch at your leisure. Each episode has a small “Download” link. Click this link to save the file to your computer.

Alternately, if you would like to subscribe to this podcast using iTunes, simply click this link to open iTunes on your computer. When the IBS Podcast page loads, click the “Subscribe” button. Once you are subscribed to the podcast, new episodes will be downloaded by iTunes when they are available.

If you don’t want to use iTunes, use the Podcast RSS feed to subscribe to the IBS podcast using the podcatcher of your choice.
